Gondola Art Stroll #5
Winter Wonderland
Gondola Artwork Didactic
Welcome to “Woodland Wonderland”! It is set in an enchanted holiday forest in winter where the animals have gathered to give each other gifts and enjoy the Yule season. The animals feel reminiscent of an illustrated children’s book; magical and playful where all things are possible. The rest of the forest invites you into its festive depths to enjoy the crackling and lively fire pit, the quiet comfort of the pines, and the dreamy twinkling stars.
We upcycled as much material as we could by working with a local theatre to acquire some of the holiday decor that they are getting rid of, using used cardboard mail boxes to create layering effect underneath the snow for depth and dimension, and found wrapping paper that was going to be thrown away for the gifts. We also used materials we already had to supplement the decoration and looked to get as many items locally as we could. Whatever else we needed to order, we had shipped together as much as possible to reduce our carbon footprint.

Meet Luminous Arts – Jess & Sally
Luminous Arts is comprised of a 2 person team, Sally and Jessica Neilson-Berg. They are a married couple who have worked together in the past to create 2 public art pieces for the Art Pianos for All project. One was on display on Park City’s Main Street, the other “Train of Wonders,” is an interactive art piece on permanent display at the Ledges Event Center in Coalville, UT. It is a vintage train with a piano for a base and the assemblage is constructed entirely from found objects.
