Gondola Art Stroll #4
Twinkly Night
Gondola Artwork Didactic
Have you ever wondered what happens at the resort when the sun sets, and the stars come out to play? In the spirit of the carol “Silent Night,” this design is a twinkly rendition of The Canyons at night— when all is calm and all is bright.
At the heart of this design are the iconic peaks of the Canyons Ridgeline (Dutch’s, 9990 and Squaretop). Pulling inspiration from the local landscape, Anna wanted to create the layered ridges that give The Canyons its name. Behind the peaks, you’ll see a rotating celestial backdrop of twinkling winter constellations… A reminder that although things (like the stars) may appear static— they are always changing. May this piece bring attention to the magic of our local mountains and ignite wonder during winter’s long sparkly nights.
Scavenger Hunt Clue
When the skiers all go home and get cozy, the local animals come out to play. Can you find the moose and deer? There’s one more native animal that’s even harder to find! The snow hare in his winter white coat is almost invisible against the ski slopes.
Meet Anna
I’m a Park City based painter who finds inspiration in the wild lands of the West. As an artist, my deepest joy comes from tracing the landscape with my physical body— and then immortalizing that experience in paint. Sublime moments in nature inform my art, while the act of creating brings soul to every outdoor adventure. My art honors the unique landscape of Utah— from snowy Wasatch peaks, to the sandstone cliffs of the south. Using a variety of mediums, I focus on the jagged line where the earth and sky meet. I hope my paintings spark joy and wonder, calling you to explore the natural world around you.
