The Sunrise Gondola is anticipated to be operational for the 2025–2026 winter season, offering a more efficient and reliable lift option for resort guests
Park City Mountain Resort is advancing its Sunrise Gondola Project, aiming to enhance skier access and reduce congestion at the Canyons Village base area. The new 6,500-foot, 10-passenger gondola will replace the existing two-person Sunrise chairlift, providing a third lift option alongside the Red Pine Gondola and Orange Bubble Express. The base terminal will be situated near Pendry Park City and The Lift, with the upper terminal located in the Red Pine area.

Key Benefits:
- Improved Guest Experience: The gondola is expected to significantly reduce wait times and enhance the overall flow and circulation in the Canyons Village base area.
- Enhanced Wind Resistance: Designed with a terrain-hugging alignment sheltered from the north and heavier cabins, the gondola aims to minimize weather-related holds and closures, a common issue with the current lift system.
- Increased Accessibility: The new lift will provide greater access for lodging guests and day skiers and snowboarders, improving mountain access for everyone.
Project Timeline:
- Phase One: Completed with planning and permitting approvals.
- Phase Two: Commenced in June 2024, focusing on utility relocations, infrastructure improvements, and establishing the lift corridor.
- Phase Three: Scheduled for 2025, involving the removal of the existing Sunrise chairlift and installation of the new gondola system.
