Park City, UT – Jan. 31, 2020 –Huntsman Cancer Foundation’s (HCF) Pink Park City returns for its third year bringing people together to ski and snowboard for a cancer-free future. The event is returning to Canyons Village at Park City Mountain on March 28, 2020. Pink Park City brings the inspiring cancer-fighting community out for a day to not only conquer the slopes but to conquer ALL types of cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S.
“Pink Park City is a celebration of life and an opportunity to pave the way for revolutionary strides in research to take place within our state,” said Holly Hagerman, Pink Park City Co-founder. “We encourage all ages to come and take part in this fun-filled day on the slopes. It is inspiring to see our community light up the mountain in pink.”
Whether working individually or as a part of a team, participants will dedicate the day to raising funds that will support those who experience a cancer diagnosis and fuel the life-saving research taking place at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). Participants and donors even have the opportunity to dedicate their funds to support research for a specific type of cancer. This day-long event has something for everyone; skiing or snowboarding in Pink Park City’s Rally for Hope parade, vibrant costume contests, live music, giveaways, and more. Participants don’t have to be winter sport enthusiasts to get involved.
During its first two years, Pink Park City raised an impressive $245,000 for cancer research. HCF is excited to announce its fundraising goal of $300,000 for the 2020 event, nearly double the amount raised during the 2019 event. One hundred percent of funds raised will support vital research for all types of cancer at HCI.
“Each one of us has felt the impact of cancer in one way or another,” said Jen Murano-Tucker, director of events for Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “It is through fundraising efforts such as Pink Park City that we are able to provide hope to those being affected by cancer. Based on the astounding efforts of our community and sponsors in previous years, we are confident we will hit this year’s fundraising goal out of the park.”
